About the Village of Woodville Wisconsin

Woodville, Wisconsin, was once so heavily forested that portions of it were often referred to as "The Big Woods," over time the village finally adopted Woodville as the official name of the town. The early settlers arrived in Woodville as hunters, lumbermen and mill workers as well as wood-choppers.

Norwegian C-Ds by Sissel

  Sissel Kyrkjebo's birthday is today, June 24.  Born in 1969, Sissel is a star in Norway due to her fantastic voice that truly sounds like the clear beautiful waterfalls seen in Norway.  Her voice is hard to describe.  I had a chance to first hear her singing when we were traveling in Norway about 10 years ago.  Our tour guide put the Sissel's Soria Moria CD on as we traveled the beautiful mountain roads and her voice was truly representive of the gorgeous surroundings.  The CD My Heart is done mostly in English and includes songs like "You Raise Me Up", "Ava Maria", and "Someone Like You".  A recent release is Nordisk Vindernott into Paradise as seen on PBS.  Lena and Ole's Gifts has a number of her C-Ds for $19.95 plus shipping of $2.00.  Call 715-698-4111 to order.  Her music is the #1 seller in our store and is listened to often by customers that include a nurse (who finds it very relaxing) and a long-distance trucker Arnie (as he travels the highways of the US).

Wildwood Trail Can Be Enjoyed Anytime!

The Wildwood Trail is a seven-mile off-road hiking, biking and snowmobiling trail on a former railroad right-of-way, which runs from the Village of Woodville south to the St. Croix/Pierce County line, through the Town of Eau Galle.

No matter what community event is or isn’t happening in the area, the Wildwood Trail is always an enjoyable place for families to hike, bike, or snowmobile! 

And remember, after a day of biking, hiking or snowmobiling, Woodville visitors can return to their room at the Troll Haus Lodge for a restful evening. 

Butterscotch Peanut Butter Bars Recipe — no bake

One of my favorite recipes came from the kitchen of my Aunt Anna — it’s quick and easy and keeps your kitchen cool in the summer!

 

• Melt together over low heat 12 oz. of butterscotch chips, 1/2 cup butter & 1 cup smooth peanut butter & cool the mixture.
• Add 1 (6oz) pkg. of minature marshmallows (colored ones make it very pretty but white will do) and 1 cup of flaked coconut.
• Immediately pour into a 9 inch by 9 inch buttered pan and store in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
• Makes 16 bars (more or less) depending on how large you cut them.  
• Enjoy!

 

Butter Bells

Norwegian Bunad Collection

The Norwegian Bunad Collection is made of authentically replicated regional costumes. Each figurine is sculptured by a master craftsman, cast in the finest materials and hand painted to preserve the smallest details. The Collection has been assembled in collaboration with, and recommended by, the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History (Norsk Folkemuseum) Oslo, and the Folk & National Costume Council (Bunad og Folkedraktråder), Fagernes. Each freestanding figurine is approximately 7 inches tall.
